Pennsylvania Dutch Funny Cake
Yum! Funny cake is a holiday tradition in our house. It features a chocolate filling beneath a moist cake, all in a pie shell with a crunchy topping. It makes a perfect breakfast, snack or dessert. And every taste brings back memories of holidays past.

Do you have a recipe for this you can share? My father-in-law and his brother were talking about their mother making this when they were kids. The described it as you did and remembered that her version had vinegar in it. Can you help me find a recipe?
I haven’t heard of the Funny Cake in many many years since my great grandmother. I don’t even know if anyone has her recipe anymore. But it was great to bring back memories.
Glad you enjoyed the post, Patti!
